About Us
Our Livable Solutions (OLS) is a community-driven organization focused on developing sustainable, compassionate responses to housing insecurity. We work collaboratively with community members, partner agencies, and program participants to create supportive environments that foster stability, wellbeing, and long-term success.
This position is funded through a generous grant from the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area and is a contract role running immediately through November 2026.
Position Overview
The Living Solutions Coordinator (LSC) reports directly to the Executive Director to support and advance a range of community-based initiatives.
This role focuses on program coordination, relationship-building, and continuous improvement across multiple evolving projects. As OLS continues to grow, the LSC will play a key role in supporting both existing and newly developed programs.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support the day-to-day delivery of community programs and initiatives
Facilitate participant engagement, including meetings, workshops, and feedback sessions
Build and maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, and grassroots organizations
Connect participants with external supports and services, helping to build individualized care networks
Assist with program development and implementation, adapting to new initiatives as they emerge
Monitor program outcomes using both quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback
Conduct check-ins, interviews, and informal evaluations with participants and stakeholders
Identify areas for improvement and contribute to ongoing program refinement
Support outreach, recruitment, and awareness efforts for programs
Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and assist with internal reporting
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Lived experience with homelessness, mental health challenges, and/or substance use disorder
Have knowledge of or experience with trauma-informed approaches (or willingness to complete training with OLS)
Previous experience supporting people exiting homelessness preferred but not required
Experience supporting people experiencing adversity (homelessness, disability, newcomers to Canada...)
Knowledge of resources in the community for individuals who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, living in poverty, or living with mental health or addiction challenges;
Ability to adapt to dynamic environments;
Ability to integrate harm reduction approaches as appropriate in daily interactions with clients;
Ability to identify and assess risk and implement strategies which minimize risk to self, the client, and others;
Ability to provide positive input and adapt to an iterative improvement process.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong problem solving, conflict resolution and mediation skills;
Strong technology skills, including experience with Google Workspace
Marketing and social media experience (asset, not required)
Additional Requirements
A driver’s licence is not required; however, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to travel throughout the city, as the role involves regular attendance at multiple sites
CPIC (Police Information Check), including Vulnerable Sector Check, is required prior to employment

Part-time (22.5 hours per week, 27 week contract)

Rate of Pay
$24 per hour
